A leaked image of a purported iPhone 16 case has surfaced online, offering a glimpse of the vertical rear camera layout expected on both the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models.
According to a report from HT tech, Apple has been considering various camera bump designs for the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup in recent months. The latest prototype shows a vertical camera arrangement, similar to previous iPhone models such as the iPhone X. This setup includes separate camera rings for wide and ultra-wide lenses, housed behind a pill-shaped raised surface. The microphone is placed next to the lens and the camera flash is on the outside of the bump.
One of the notable features expected with the vertical camera layout is the introduction of spatial video recording to the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models. The technology is currently limited to iPhone 15 Pro models and Vision Pro headsets and is expected to enhance users’ immersive video experiences.
In addition to the redesigned camera bump, recent iPhone 16 prototypes reportedly include an action button similar to the one found on the iPhone 15 Pro. Additionally, there appears to be a pressure-sensitive capture button for smoother horizontal video capture, as evidenced by the opening seen on the latest case.
While these leaked cases provide insight into potential design directions for the iPhone 16, it’s important to note that they do not represent Apple’s final product. However, a consistent stream of leaks suggests that the tech giant is close to finalizing the design for this year’s iPhone 16.
Apple enthusiasts can expect the iPhone 16 series to be officially announced in September. Further updates are expected as speculation surrounding these highly anticipated devices continues to grow. Stay tuned as we hear more about further developments for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
