Rwandan President Paul Kagame has appointed his daughter Ange Kagame Ndengeingoma, 29, to head key departments in the presidential office.
According to a statement from the prime minister’s office, Angers will serve as “Deputy Director-General of the Strategic Policy Council/SPC.”
Ange, who has worked for the president for about five years, completed her education overseas and spent much of her childhood away from public life for safety and privacy reasons.
She attended Dana Hall School, a private prep school in Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States.
My oldest daughter attended Smith College, majoring in political science and minoring in African studies.
She also holds a master’s degree in international relations from Columbia University.
Mr. Kagame appoints his children to key positions, presumably to give them experience in managing government affairs.
In 2020, Kagame’s eldest son, Ivan Kagame, was appointed to the board of the Rwanda Development Board. The Rwanda Development Board is the main government agency tasked with fast-tracking the country’s economic development by enabling private sector growth.

Ivan Kagame, a partner in a venture capital fund, holds a BA in Economics from Pace University and an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Pace University and MBA Graduated from the University of Southern California Marshall School.
