Android 15 may not allow Bluetooth to be turned off for long periods of time

Google released a developer preview of Android 15 a few weeks ago, and it is expected to reach a stable state during the third quarter of this year. More features are being revealed every week as experts begin digging deeper into the first few beta releases of Android 15. Recently, it was discovered that Android 15 may not allow Bluetooth to be turned off for long periods of time.

In Android 15, Bluetooth may turn on the day after you turn it off to increase the effectiveness of Google’s Find My Device feature.

According to a new report from Android Authority, there are numerous mentions of a feature called Bluetooth Auto-On. As the name suggests, Android 15 can automatically turn on Bluetooth after a while. When this feature is enabled and a user tries to turn off his Bluetooth on the device, a dialog similar to the following may appear:Features like quick share, find my device, and device location use Bluetooth. This is to improve the effectiveness of Google’s future Find My Device network.

Google’s “Find My Device” is scheduled to be released next week. This allows users to track lost or stolen devices. His network of billions of Android devices relies mostly on Bluetooth. This network allows Android devices to ping nearby compatible devices via Bluetooth, creating a huge mesh network and allowing you to track lost devices. This is similar to how Samsung Find works on Galaxy devices.

Your data is fully encrypted, so you don’t have to worry about anyone tracking your device’s location. Only you can track devices registered to your Google Account. Additionally, only system apps can turn Bluetooth on or off, so third-party apps can’t control it.

If users turn off Bluetooth on their Android devices, Find My Device networks are less effective. So Google may change his Bluetooth on/off behavior on her Android. In Android 14 QPR2, “It will automatically turn on again tomorrowWhen I turn off Bluetooth, I’m already getting the message “”. Google may also be taking things a step further with Android 15 by only pausing Bluetooth when you turn off a quick settings toggle.

Author’s note: The Bluetooth auto-on feature is not yet enabled in the Android 14 or Android 15 versions released by Google so far. So there’s still time before that happens. Additionally, Android smartphone brands are providing additional options to change this behavior or leave Bluetooth off for users who fear being tracked or who want to turn off Bluetooth to save battery. It may be possible to provide.

Samsung also has its own Samsung Find network as well as Google’s Find My Device network, so whether Samsung keeps both networks active, continues to use its own network, or integrates Samsung Find with Google’s Find My Device network. I don’t know yet whether I will decide to integrate. In our opinion, it would be beneficial for all Android users if Google and Samsung integrated their systems with each other. This greatly improves the efficiency of object position tracking.
