Google today releases Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 with numerous bug fixes. This follows the last milestone almost a month ago. Factory and OTA images for manual installation are not yet available, but on-device updates are available.

- We fixed an issue where the device launcher could crash when trying to view recent apps. (Issue #328803294)
- We fixed an issue where Pixel Tablet devices might not charge when connected to a dock. (Problem number 299800125)
- Fixed an issue where you might not be able to return to the home screen by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
- We fixed an issue where the layout of notifications on the lock screen displayed additional padding.
- Fixed various issues that were frequently causing “Application not responding” errors in both system and user apps.
- We fixed an issue where the notification shade might not appear when you swipe down from the top of the screen.
- We fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices where only half of the inner screen might display content when the device is unfolded.
- Fixed an issue where a user’s wallpaper settings might not be backed up properly.
- We fixed an issue where the “Quick tap to start action” gesture could sometimes stop working.
- Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, performance, connectivity, interactivity, and cameras.
If you’re already enrolled in the Android 14 Beta program, you’ll automatically receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to QPR3 Beta 2.1.
In Beta 2 last month, Google “temporarily disabled OTA image downloads until we can further troubleshoot” sideloading issues where “devices may not boot properly after sideloading completes.” .
