Leaving cables on the plane can be very frustrating. Needless to say, using Android Auto in code is always a rollercoaster ride.
Cables are often the main cause of Android Auto connectivity issues, but we’re of the opinion that Google needs to spend more time improving the overall stability and reliability of the updates it pushes to production channels. I also agree with that.
However, thanks to devices like AAWireless and Motorola’s MA1, upgrading Android Auto from wired to wireless has become very convenient. Although AAWireless was the first device to hit the market, Motorola’s product quickly gained widespread adoption with support from Google.
Such devices are in incredible demand today, and the good news is that they regularly become cheaper with deep discounts.
Earlier this week, AAWireless, the device that invented the Android Auto wireless adapter category, was marked down significantly on its website (though it’s already returned to its regular price in the meantime). Now Motorola has lowered the price. Come up with discounts.
MA1 is currently 33% cheaper on Amazon, where customers can purchase it for just $59.98. Normally, this device costs $89.99, so if you’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to buy it at a lower price, I don’t think the MA1 will drop below this price.

Motorola has been offering some deep discounts on the MA1 lately, leading many to wonder if the company is working on a second-generation model. The large discount could suggest that a new version is in the spotlight and Motorola is trying to clear out inventory, but there is no confirmation on this at this point.
Meanwhile, AAWireless is already working on a second generation adapter that will offer CarPlay support out of the box. AAWireless and MA1 are very similar in terms of functionality, although the former also supports his CarPlay in beta on certain models. This release brings the same concept to the Apple world, allowing iPhone users to do away with cables in cars where only wired CarPlay was available.
Once a new model is released, Apple users can move to a wireless experience with a plug-and-play setup, as everything is preloaded and no other updates are required. The debut should take place this year, but no further details have been revealed.
We contacted Motorola to ask about their plans for the MA1 adapter, but received no response. We also don’t believe a second-generation model is on the table. Given that Motorola has Google’s support for the launch of his MA1, I don’t think expansion in the Apple world is something the company wants to explore.
