The two put their creativity to work reimagining the LGBTQ pride flag using polypropylene webbing straps threaded between floating palm trees on Lincoln Road’s Euclid Oval. It is the focal point of a picture-perfect gathering space that reminds us that we are individuals who together weave the fabric of society. In addition, artists elevated the district’s entrances at Washington Avenue and Alton Road and at Euclid Oval and added colorful textile sleeves to all planters that reflect the Pride Progressive flag.

“Lincoln Road has a decades-long connection to the LGBTQ community and serves as a vibrant hub where the LGBTQ community feels safe and celebrated,” said Annabelle Lopis, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. “I am doing so,” he said. “We are thrilled to be able to unveil art at scale that not only pays homage to Lincoln Road’s deep ties to the community and supports equality and inclusion, but also visually captivates locals and visitors alike.”

About Lincoln Road

Located in the heart of Miami Beach, the Lincoln Road District is a premier retail, lifestyle and cultural destination with approximately 200 restaurants, shops, entertainment, arts and cultural venues. Lincoln Road ranks as the most visited outdoor destination in South Florida, with more than 8 million people visiting in 2022. Dubbed by some as “Miami’s living room,” nothing is more quintessentially Miami Beach than Lincoln Road. This street is where models walk their dogs after a runway show, where stylish boulevards pass shoppers past their windows, and where cafe culture subverts standard business meetings. Music and entertainment lovers will seek refuge in the Lincoln Road area, home to the New World Symphony, Colony Theater, and Regal South Beach Theatre. Just around the corner is the renovated Miami Beach Convention Center, which hosts the world-famous Art His Basel Miami Beach each December.
