cast of another world They have reunited for a national tour of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). While in Washington, D.C., hosted by Howard University, they appeared at the White House and met with Vice President Kamala Harris and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
The Griot’s April Ryan shared snippets of her White House visit on Instagram, including a scene in which Jean-Pierre led the cast in singing the show’s theme.
The group was featured throughout much of the sitcom’s run, choosing the version sung by Aretha Franklin in the original version.
Tour features another world alumnus Daryl M. Bell (Ron Johnson); Charnelle Brown (Kimberly Reese) Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert Wayne); Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne Wayne) Dawn Lewis (Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor). Cree Summer (Winifred Brooks). Glyn Turman (Colonel Bradford Taylor); and Sinbad (Walter Oakes). They were joined by producers Debbie Allen and Susan Fails.
The goal of this tour is to raise money for scholarships at the participating HBCUs. “By leveraging star power and cultural influence, another worldWe aim to inspire new generations to choose HBCUs as their home for education,” the group’s statement said.
The sitcom ran for six seasons from 1987 to 1993.
