Aleksa Brabec and Kai McKinnon placed second overall in the Team Sprint HS 102/2×4.5k at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia, taking first place in the women’s Nordic combined team event at the World Junior Championships. I brought home a medal. US.
On the hill, McKinnon got off to a good start with a jump of 84.0 meters, earning him a score of 89.1. Brabec then put together a jump of 89.5 meters to score 107.4 points (196.5 points total), starting +0:29 behind first place and securing fifth place in the sprint.
In the race, Brabec and MacKinnon moved into third place at the 0.7 kilometer mark and into second place at the 3 kilometer mark. The duo then took first place overall at the 4.5km mark and competed with Japan for the gold medal. Brabec and McKinnon were even with Japan until the final leg, just past 8.2km, finishing just +0.7 behind Japan at 9km, giving Brabec and McKinnon the silver medal for the United States.
