Coaches play a central role in the development of triathlon at all levels around the world. With growing powers and rising expectations, it is important that a clear and comprehensive approach to coach development is a key building block to ensure the future development of triathlon.
The World Triathlon Coach Education Program has several significant achievements.
– To grow and develop the sport globally by making quality coach education available to all national federations, regardless of their stage of development (from developing to established).
– Provide a quality-assured framework for coach education and development to support coach development efforts
– Provide coaches with a coaching development pathway for every role, from high performance to grassroots coaching. This allows you to develop your competency and effectiveness based on international standards, regardless of your professional status (voluntary or paid).
– To provide a mechanism by which coaches from all national federations can progress along the coaching path if they wish.
As part of the World Triathlon Coach Education Program, the development team has launched an interview series providing insight into the World Triathlon Coach Education pathway, courses, educational benefits and continuing professional development.
World Triathlon Development has recorded the first interviews in a series with Level 1 and Level 2 coaches who attended the Korea Triathlon – World Triathlon Coaching Education Program held in Seoul in November 2023.
Meet the Filipino coach trio and enjoy more interviews as part of the series.
