The star of the show now is the reply box, which is the same as the typical messaging space in Google Messages. However, tapping the “Reply” icon opens a small menu. Users can find there the previous static options for replying to all parties and forwarding messages.
You can also expand the box if you need additional breathing space. Additionally, there is an Attach button on the far left, and a Send button and an emoji submenu on the right. This new reply box should always be visible at the bottom of the display, allowing users to quickly reply whenever they see fit.
Updates should start becoming available as the week progresses. X users are reporting that they received the update along with other users in India.

Gmail’s new reply box was discovered in November 2023 and is still in the testing phase. Apparently, Google was trying to give his Gmail more of an instant messaging feel with this change. Additionally, this new chat-style reply box appears to be the new default for the application.
Google has been making small improvements to Gmail for some time, and in October the app received emoji responses on Android. Tap on the smiley face to quickly see the possible choices, and click the “+” icon to see all available emojis. Users can also “undo” sent emojis if they notice an error within 30 seconds of sending.
Elsewhere, it looks like Gmail’s AI helper is set to receive some sort of upgrade, as leaks indicate that Google may be introducing voice capabilities. The “Help me write” option on Android may allow users to verbalize email prompts to her AI helper to generate results right in the messaging space.
