A World War II-era barracks construction area is reset at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin in January 2024.
The work is the next step after four World War II-era barracks were relocated from one block of the complex to a new location on the site, with new foundations, new equipment, etc. must be installed.
The effort to relocate the barracks building in 2023 marks the first time in Fort McCoy’s history that effort has been completed.
Fort McCoy’s motto is to be a “total strength training center.”
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. military installation in Wisconsin.
The facility has provided support and facilities for field and classroom training to more than 100,000 service members of all military services nearly every year since 1984.

You can also download the Digital Garrison app on your smartphone and set Fort McCoy or another facility as your preferred location. Fort McCoy is also part of the Army Facilities Management Command, “We Are the Home of the Army.”
