Kansas City business owners seek solution as mail delays continue

An increasing number of people are contacting KMBC 9 Investigation if they are not receiving emails. KMBC has received reports from multiple people from all over the viewing area within the past 48 hours. Orlena Boehm emailed KMBC and said she was having trouble receiving her mail. “We would tell customers that their payments are past due, but that’s actually not the case,” she said. She said Boehm believes in her old-fashioned customer service, but she still sends checks and invoices by mail. Lately, she hasn’t met the standards she expects from her USPS. She says she is 20 to 30 days late for her check to arrive. She says postal service to her store sometimes only comes once a week. “All parties have worked hard to resolve this issue,” Boehm said. “So the only other way we can solve the problem is to take it out.” KMBC 9 Investigates continues to try to get answers from local post office personnel. A spokesperson for Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s office told KMBC on Tuesday that they are committed to excellent customer service and encourage everyone who is struggling to get answers. , said he plans to meet with the White House on Friday. He wants more answers to speed up delivery. Meanwhile, Boehm plans to move more of its operations online and cannot do much more. She relies on her old-fashioned postman, which she has come to expect from her. More and more people are contacting KMBC 9 Investigates about not receiving their mail.

KMBC has received multiple reports from people across the viewing area within the past 48 hours.

Orlena Boehm said in an email to KMBC that her business, Dell’s Appliance Heating and Cooling Co., is having trouble delivering mail.

“We’ll call our customers saying they’re overdue, but that’s actually not the case,” she said.

Boehm believes in old-fashioned customer service, but says the recent mailing of checks and bills doesn’t meet the standards he expects from the USPS.

She says her checks are delayed by 20 to 30 days. She says the postal service to her store sometimes only comes once a week.

“All sources have been working to resolve this issue,” Boehm said. “So the only way you can solve the problem is to get it out.”

KMBC 9 Investigates continues to try to get answers from local postal officials.

A spokesperson said Tuesday that the company is committed to excellent customer service and encourages anyone struggling to get answers to contact USPS.

A spokesperson for Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s office told KMBC that he will meet with the White House on Friday.

He wants more answers to speed up delivery.

Meanwhile, Boehm plans to move more of his business online, as he can no longer rely on the old-fashioned mail delivery he used to rely on.
