Fifteen of the 46 players invited to USA Hockey’s 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase are from Minnesota.

Colorado Springs, Colorado – USA Hockey has invited 46 players, including five goalies, 16 defensemen and 25 forwards, to participate in the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase, which will be held July 26-Aug. 3 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

The World Junior Summer Showcase, which will also include players from Canada, Finland and Sweden, is designed to evaluate players for possible selection onto their national teams to compete in the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, to be held in Ottawa, Ontario from December 26, 2024 to January 5, 2025.

Daily practices are free and open to the public, plus the week-long World Junior Summer Showcase will feature nine international matches. Tickets for games can be purchased here or at the USA Hockey Arena box office. For the complete WJSS schedule, click here.

Of the 46 players scheduled to participate, 10 were members of the gold medal-winning 2024 U.S. Junior National Team, including the goalkeeper. Trey Augustine (South Lyon, Michigan/Michigan State University) and Sam Hillebrandt (Riverview, FL/Barrie Colts); Defenseman Zeev Buium (San Diego, California/University of Denver) Drew Fortescue (Pearl River, NY/Boston University) Aram Minnetian (Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey/Boston College) Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Massachusetts/Boston University) Oliver Moore (Mounds View, Minnesota/University of Minnesota) Danny Nelson (Maple Grove, Minnesota/University of Notre Dame) Gabe Perrault (Hinsdale, Illinois/Boston University), Carrie Terrance (Akwesasne, NY/Ellie Otters) Additionally, Augustine was also a member of the 2023 U.S. Junior National Team.

Note: Players representing 10 states were invited to the World Junior Summer Showcase, with Minnesota leading the way with 15, followed by Illinois (9), New York (6), California (4), Massachusetts (3), Michigan (3), Florida (2), New Jersey (2), Alaska (1) and Pennsylvania (1). John Vanbiesbrouck (Detroit, Michigan/USA Hockey) has served as general manager of the U.S. Junior National Team for seven consecutive years. David Carl (Anchorage, Alaska/University of Denver) returns as head coach for the second consecutive year…The United States has won medals in seven of the past nine IIHF World Junior Championships, the country’s all-time medal winning streak, and will enter the 2025 World Junior Championship as the defending gold medalist.
