summary

  • A user has enabled the unreleased iPhone mirroring feature that will soon be coming to macOS Sequoia.
  • Apple’s iPhone mirroring screen recording execution seems to be much smoother than Android and Windows mirroring execution.
  • For now, there’s no easy way to enable Apple’s feature, but users running iOS and macOS beta versions can expect its official debut in the near future.

Perhaps the most important feature of macOS Sequoia is iPhone Mirroring. This integration of the Apple ecosystem allows users to control iOS devices directly from their Mac. The feature isn’t officially available in macOS Sequoia Beta 1, but one user managed to force enable it. Based on a short screen recording, Apple’s iPhone Mirroring appears to be much more sophisticated than the Phone Link feature that ties together Android and Windows.

As shown in the video embedded above, Twitter users Follow We were able to enable and use iPhone Mirroring on iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Mirroring in the demo was instantaneous with minimal lag or glitches. Users quickly launched, interacted with, and closed mirrored iOS apps, reflecting a natural and intuitive user experience.

It’s really fun to dive into the world of hidden Mac features. One key takeaway is that Apple has a lot of override systems that aren’t always easy to understand. Getting something to work and getting it to work without you having to manipulate it are two very different things… https://t.co/a3cZw6mnkM

user translation:who helped enable the feature, says that there’s currently no easy way to enable iPhone Mirroring in macOS Sequoia Beta 1, so users will likely have to wait until Apple officially enables the feature in a future beta build. That said, the fact that the unreleased feature seems to work seamlessly in the first developer beta only highlights how well developed the feature is.
