Lenovo today announced the new Tab Plus, an affordable Android tablet with JBL audio, a built-in kickstand, and more.
The Lenovo Tab Plus is an 11.5-inch tablet that’s pretty good considering its price. The spec sheet puts it at the mid-range of the tablet, with a MediaTek G99 chipset and 8GB of RAM. There’s also 128GB or 256GB of storage depending on the model, with microSD support. The display is a 2000×1200 LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also has an 8,600mAh battery that supports up to 45W charging.
Since the main focus of this tablet is entertainment, this is a great specs sheet.
The tablet has eight JBL-tuned speakers: four “matrix tweeters” and four woofers that provide rich audio output, and a huge subwoofer cutout on the side. There’s also a kickstand to prop the tablet up for media viewing, and Lenovo says the tablet can output up to 26W of audio. For reference, that’s roughly the same output as the JBL Flip 6 speakers.

In a bold use of this potentially great speaker, Lenovo has built into the tablet the option to use the speaker as a Bluetooth speaker with other devices, such as your smartphone. Lenovo explains:
To make the most of the tablet’s features and audio system, designed and engineered in collaboration with JBL, the Lenovo Tab Plus transforms into a Bluetooth speaker to enjoy seamless audio anywhere streamed from smartphones and other portable devices, and also comes with an integrated kickstand for up to 175 degrees of viewing flexibility.
There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack if you prefer wired audio.
The Lenovo Tab Plus will ship with Android 14 out of the box and will get two years of Android upgrades (in theory up to Android 16) and security patches until June 2028.
The Tab Plus is available starting today.
Lenovo also recently quietly launched a similarly specced but business-focused tablet, the Tab K11 LTE.
