Nature Story
The Natural History Museum at California Polytechnic State University, Humboldt will host a talk by ecological biogeographer Robert Fernau, titled “Butterfly Ecology of the Marble Mountains,” from 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, June 13. Donations are welcome to attend.

Swedish Pancakes
A Swedish Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road in Eureka, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. June 16. Cost is $10.
Celebration in the park
California State Parks North Coast Redwood District, Redwood National Park and the Redwood Parks Conservancy will celebrate Tvm-chaa-me’ Day on June 17 with the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation at Chvn-su’lh-dvn, or Jedediah Smith State Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day is a celebration of the park, the local Indigenous community, and the beloved watershed. Scheduled for the day are Tolowa cultural interpretive presentations, an old growth redwood canoe exhibit, Tolowa cooking demonstrations, informational tables, and more.
Parking is available across from the Hiouchi Visitor Center at 1600 US Highway 199 in Crescent City. Shuttles will run from the parking lot to the event site. For more information, email Erika.granadino@parks.ca.gov or public.relations@tolowa.com.
Summer Camp
Dream Quest will be hosting “Kids Drama Camp” at Kimtu Cookhouse in Willow Creek from July 15 to 19. The camp will run from 10am to 2pm each day, with a performance on the final day of camp.
