The first night in Lyon, France, was a rainy show for the Eras tour.
“Pluie, rain,” Taylor Swift yelled as she floated onto the stage during “Speak Now” during her sold-out show at Groupama Stadium. (“Pluie” is French for rain.)
Gray clouds hung over the open stadium for the first hour of Swift’s first show in the eastern French city. The band played under tents on either side of the stage, including tents for the VIP and production booths on the first floor. Some in the audience wore colorful ponchos.
A light rain started to fall during “Enchanted,” but turned into a downpour within minutes of “Reputation,” as Swift and her dancers braved the rain to sing “Baby, let’s start the games.” The majority of the water show took place while Swift performed in a red and black bodysuit.

During a performance of the combined songs “Folklore” and “Evermore,” Swift sat at a moss-covered piano and acknowledged the presence of Mother Nature.
“It’s officially rained out for tonight’s show, that’s settled,” she said before performing “Champagne Problems.” “And that’s for good. And I don’t care if it doesn’t rain again.”
“Happy Pride Month, Lyon.”
In “You Need to Calm Down,” a song that has become an LGBTQ anthem among Swift fans, the singer references a June filled with rainbows.
“Happy Pride Month, Lyon,” she said, as watches lit up in rainbow colors around the stadium and fans waved to each other.
The singer-songwriter will play one more show in Lyon on Monday night before performing three shows in Edinburgh, Scotland this weekend.
