The University of Oklahoma won back-to-back Women’s College World Series. The Sooners have won six games since his 2013 season, the most by any team (or state) at the time. However, this was not always the case.
Oklahoma State’s dominance of the Women’s College World Series championship is relatively new. Take a look at the states that have won the most Women’s College World Series titles since the tournament began in 1982.
16 — California
When it comes to DI softball titles, California reigns supreme. Cal State overall has a lot of help from UCLA as 13 of his 16 are through the Bruins. UCLA won the championship in 1982, 1984, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2019. His three other titles are at California State University, Fullerton (1986), Fresno State University (1998), and California (2002).

10 — Arizona
Outside of the West, Arizona trails California by six wins, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t had a lot of success. Much of that success is due to the Arizona Wildcats, who won eight championships in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2006, and 2007. Masu. Arizona State University received the torch during his brief stint in the late 2000s. The Arizona-based university hasn’t reached the finals since 2011.
7 — Oklahoma
Five of the six state titles have been won by the Oklahoma Sooners in the past 10 years: 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The other was acquired in 2000. Patti Gasso is at the helm of it all. Given the influx of talent to the state’s flagship team, that title total is likely to continue to grow.
