Three fifth-graders from Pearl Creek Elementary School visited NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, to present their school’s greendown phenology research. Many of the school’s students have participated in the past four years. Ben Fields, Annabelle Grunau, and Lief O’Regan presented research on how leaf color changes in the fall on May 11-12.
Educators, students, and scientists attended the Pacific/Northwest Regional Student Research Symposium to share research using the Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) protocol. The students presented their posters to their peers and professional scientists as one of his four teams representing the state of Alaska. The team also had the opportunity to meet and talk with NASA crew members and other scientists while touring NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
