Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro’s camera reportedly reduces lens flare

One of the reasons Apple’s iPhone is considered one of the best things you can buy is its camera. The tech giant has long prided itself on the cameras built into its devices, frequently introducing new technology to improve zoom, low-light shots, and video stabilization. Now, a new leak suggests the company may have developed a new way to make photos sharper and more true to life.

Chinese news aggregator yeux1122, translated by MacRumors, writes that Apple is considering adding new anti-reflection technology to its camera manufacturing. The result, according to MacRumors, is that this new process can remove unexpected artifacts such as halos, streaks, and bursts of light, often referred to as lens flares. Assuming this leak is true, the result would be more life-like photos, even when the camera is in a very bright and sunny location.

Apple representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While seemingly trivial, reports of possible improvements to Apple’s iPhone camera help round out the features of the company’s next product that engineers are constantly speculating about. It also allows consumers to better understand what features Apple is trying to improve on the iPhone.

Apple reportedly plans to increase the screen size of its pro model iPhones starting at $999 while reducing the bezel borders in the iPhone 16 series scheduled to be released this fall. Meanwhile, Apple is also said to be replacing the mute switch on the $799 entry-level iPhone 16 and instead adding the popular action button on the iPhone 15 Pro.

In addition to hardware changes, Apple is expected to introduce significant software improvements to the iPhone this year. The latest software, likely to be called iOS 18 when it’s announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this June, will include new AI features to compete with the increasingly popular OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. It has been reported.
