Wireless charging is typically handled by the Qi standard, but Android appears to be belatedly adding support for charging via NFC, although it’s unclear what it will be used for.
In 2020, the NFC standard added official support for limited wireless charging functionality. This allows the NFC hardware already on your device to send power to other devices.
Currently, Android 15 appears to be working on support for NFC wireless charging.

Accessories appear to be the primary use cases, such as trackers, styluses, and other small products that can be attached to devices and use this particular form of charging. When this feature was first announced, WTC suggested that it could be useful for “smart watches, fitness trackers, wireless earbuds, digital pens, and other consumer devices.”
However, it is currently unclear how this will be used. However, native support on Android is certainly good news.
