West Ham manager David Moyes remains optimistic about his side’s chances of qualifying for Europe next season despite losing 2-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Don’t break it.
The Hammers’ dream of winning the Europa League and progressing to the Champions League seems far away after losing to the undefeated Bundesliga side. But Moyes is not ready to annul the draw ahead of Thursday’s second leg at the London Stadium.

“The level they are playing against means we will see this team (Leverkusen) in the Champions League next season. We have to accept that. It was one of the toughest draws of the remaining teams. That’s how it turned out.”
“We still have a big chance left in the second leg and we have to brace ourselves for the league game. “We have to find a way to be strong and solid and, if possible, put everyone behind the players. I hope I can bring them in and support them.”We’ll need them on Sunday. ”
Jarrod Bowen is not at risk of sustaining a hip injury against Fulham and is expected to be fit for Thursday’s game. Goalkeeper Alphonse Arreola, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos and midfielder Kalvin Phillips are all doubtful to play due to injuries.

“There are some concerns and some injuries, but we have to get them back and be ready,” Moyes added. We knew it was going to be a tough time for us, especially with suspensions and injuries, which we couldn’t afford at the moment, but unfortunately the situation has come to this.”
Edson Alvarez is back in contention after missing the match against Leverkusen due to suspension, while Lucas Paqueta is expected to feature in the second leg before serving his suspension.
