As most WhatsApp users know, the app provides indicators such as online and typing to let you know what the other person is doing. Uppercase and non-uppercase online/typing indicators on iOS and Android
However, not all devices have these uppercase indicators (at this time). For example, my WhatsApp on my iPhone has input and online indicators in uppercase, but my Android phone still shows indicators in lowercase. Several users have already reported this change, so unless WhatsApp changes its mind following negative reactions, it’s expected to become widely available in the coming weeks.
The good folks at WABetaInfo have discovered a feature that allows you to attach notes to your contacts, courtesy of the WhatsApp beta for Android. v2.24.9.12. Users are encouraged to “Add a note about the customer” in the text box just below the audio, video, and search buttons on the chat information screen.
The mention of “customers” suggests this is a business-focused addition, but I don’t see why regular users can’t use this to add a note or two about their contacts. As the on-screen text indicates, these notes are private and visible only to the person who created them. This notes feature is still in its early stages, and WABetaInfo says it’s not yet available to all beta testers.
