Is it a game console? My thoughts are as follows

I had no interest in mobile games at all. That is, unless you consider Pokémon Shuffle, Pokémon GO, Alto’s Odyssey, and Mini Motors software for gamers. With his iPhone 15 Pro, Apple focused on gaming features with hardware ray tracing and other GPU features focused on this market.

I wasn’t completely uninterested in the iPhone gaming market, but I was never good at it. Over the past few months, I’ve tried out a few exclusive Resident Evil titles for the iPhone 15 Pro, but something was still missing. It’s a proper game controller.

Thankfully, GameSir sent me a Galileo G8 controller. Since then, I’ve been using it a lot to play Genshin because my fingers hurt after using the touch screen for a while. As I mentioned in my review of the Galileo G8, the controller itself is great, but what impresses me most is how much the iPhone 15 Pro hurts when playing this demanding game.

iPhone 15 Pro owners have been complaining about overheating issues since the device’s launch. Apple says everything has been fixed since iOS 17.1, but my iPhone still feels unusually hot. Even after replacing the original unit at the Apple Store, the problem persisted.

Now that I’m finally able to play some demanding games on my iPhone, I feel like I’ve never stressed out my iPhone’s processor in so long. And now that I think about it, I don’t think this iPhone is up to the most demanding tasks.

When I first started playing Genshin, I wanted to play the game at its best, so I changed all settings to maximum functionality. After all, if the iPhone 15 Pro can’t handle top-notch performance in mobile gaming, what device can?

Everything seems fine at first, but after 20 minutes of good gameplay, the iPhone gets very hot and sometimes has throttling issues. Just 1 hour of gameplay drains his battery by over 50%, 75% of his battery loss is due to the game, and 25% is due to the game’s controller. This will ensure that your iPhone 15 Pro only lasts a few hours before being connected to power.

Since then, I decided to lower some settings so that my iPhone 15 Pro doesn’t get so hot, but that doesn’t improve the situation and I keep facing the same issue. Early this morning it felt like my iPhone was burning my controller. I can’t stop thinking about it.

I know there are dedicated smartphones for gamers and controllers with active cooling systems, but I expected a little more from Apple’s best iPhone yet. It’s okay for your iPhone to heat up when you’re playing a demanding game, but in everyday situations like listening to songs, scrolling through social media, or using Maps to find information. , the screen will become slightly dark and you will feel that your iPhone is overheating.

summary

This is the first iPhone I’ve been able to try out with a proper game controller, so I wonder if the next generation will be able to fix some of these issues, or if Apple’s claims of turning the iPhone into a portable game console are just a dream. I would like to know what is going on. – It’s like saying the Mac can be a gaming platform, but it’s not.

One thing is for sure: your iPhone 15 Pro will overheat while playing games or doing daily tasks. I feel like the camera has improved compared to the previous generation, but I think the battery life has gotten worse. I’ve never had this many overheating issues in the past two years with my iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.
