We have a new Android build on hand. Android 15 beta 1. It was only released yesterday afternoon, but people are already making lists of what failed. Thankfully, the list isn’t that long, but if you’re on the fence about flashing this beta into your daily driver, you might want to check if these bugs affect you and how you use your device. You might think so.
As an example of this, NFC seems to be the biggest issue in Beta 1. NFC simply isn’t working for users. This is relatively common in Android betas, and while it’s disappointing, it’s usually par for the course in betas.
In addition to NFC outages, various other bugs have been discovered, including annoying messages. com.qorvo.uwb.vendorservice.uwbapp has stopped Notifications to selected users. I haven’t experienced this issue with my Pixel 8 Pro, but it has been reported by Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro owners. Other issues include a long time when checking for app updates in Google Play, too much haptic feedback when typing (even after adjusting it in the settings menu), and There are issues with the fingerprint scanner when locked, etc. Easier than pressing the power button or waiting for the display to time out.
