Welcome to the latest edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here we discuss the latest mobile news and take a closer look at some of the most interesting new apps and games. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of last week’s biggest highlights.
- Google’s Magic Eraser may soon be available for free, at least according to a recent APK teardown conducted by Android Authority. For now, Magic Eraser is only limited to Google One subscribers or those with Pixel smartphones, but a series of codes suggests this may change in the near future. The only drawback is that Magic Eraser is limited in use and you can only edit a few items per month.
- The Android 15 beta is finally here, bringing with it some new changes and features, including the ability to change your default wallet app to something other than Google Wallet. This change is not too surprising given all the recent legal changes in the EU, but there are still not many details about which third-party wallets will be fully supported.
- Speaking of changes to Google Wallet, Google has also introduced a new website for its digital payment service. This site allows you to access your passes and IDs directly from the website.
- Google Messenger received a major update this week with several new features, most of which are related to images and photos. First, image quality support has been significantly improved. Next, the file size limit has increased from 25MB to 100MB. Additionally, there is a new feature that allows users to add contacts using her QR code. This feature has been present in WhatsApp for years, but we’re glad that Google has caught up here.
- Getting paid for TikTok views could soon become a reality, according to a new report. To increase engagement in Europe, the company plans to introduce new rewards features to the app, offering financial incentives for things like watching videos and inviting friends to sign up. However, there is no word yet on whether or when this feature will be available in additional markets such as the US.
- Beeper gained a lot of notoriety for its attempts to bring iMessage to Android, but that effort ultimately failed due to Apple’s continued efforts to restrict access from Android devices. The app became a more general-purpose messaging service after losing support for iMessage, but that still isn’t enough to sustain the company on its own. Beeper announced his acquisition with Automattic, the developer of WordPress.
- It looks like a VPN powered by Google One is on the way, as announced by Google itself. It’s unclear exactly when the service will end, but the company has announced plans to end the service later this year. However, Pixel users can still access Google VPN software.

Set in a world permanently shrouded in winter, you find yourself among the inhabitants of Snowdel, one of the few fortresses that have survived against the eternal cold. You can try this game for free, but be aware that your experience is limited. To access the entire game, you’ll have to pay $6.99, which is a reasonable amount considering this is a complete game and not just a mobile experience.
