OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City River Sports has decided to host the 2024 Olympic Team Trials in canoe/kayak slalom and kayak cross, bringing together top canoe slalom athletes from across the country to compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. The canoe/kayak slalom race will feature athletes competing for time through gates both downstream and upstream of the rapids. Kayak Cross involves kayakers starting side by side from a ramp 10 feet above the water and racing to the finish line while performing a series of maneuvers, including 360-degree rolls.

The trial event is scheduled to be held at Whitewater Rapids in Oklahoma City on April 26 and 27, 2024.

This event is open to the public and free to attend. Parking fee is $10.
Competition begins Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is scheduled to continue Saturday at 9 a.m. The race ends at 7pm, followed by live music and the announcement of the athletes who will be competing in Paris.
