Apple introduced iMessage reactions called Tapback in iOS 10 in 2016. This feature allows you to react to messages in one of six ways. Heart, thumbs up or down, “lol”, exclamation mark, or question mark. However, for some people it may be confused or irritated When you see someone react to your message.

Let’s say you’re texting someone you like and you respond to their last message with a thumbs up. You might just be saying, “That’s great!” But they might read that response as “This conversation is over. Goodbye.” Congratulations, you’re playing yourself and now the person you love thinks you hate them. But with emojis, you can instantly tell someone what you really mean in a more direct way, and you have all the emojis available to help you do just that.
Here’s how to use emojis to react to certain messages on your iPhone.

How to respond with emojis
1. In the appropriate iMessage conversation, tap the blank iMessage bar at the bottom of the screen to type something.
2. Tap the emoji keyboard icon (smiley icon) in the bottom left corner of the screen.
3. Long press the emoji you want to use.
Four. Drag the emoji into your message and release.
Now, instead of giving something a thumbs up or an exclamation mark, you can give them an upraised hand emoji, an eyes emoji, or both. You can use multiple emojis to react to messages, photos, and gifs sent in conversations between you and others, or in group messages.
You can also combine emojis using this feature. To do this, you need to overlay emojis on top of stickers in iMessage. Here’s how to create your own emoji combos.

I’m just a skier going down the mountain.
1. In an appropriate iMessage conversation, click the plus sign (+) located at the bottom of the screen, next to the blank iMessage bar.
2. Tap sticker.
3. Tap the sticker of your choice to send.
Four. Tap the blank iMessage bar again and follow the steps above to use emoji reactions.
You can add as many emojis as you like to each sticker, so you can have fun and create little scenes if you like. However, these combined emojis cannot be saved and must be recreated each time. Hopefully Apple will save them for people in the future.
