New Delhi: Millions of Android and iPhone users in India have received a strict security warning from the country’s nodal security agency, the Computer Emergency Response Team of India (CERT-In). This alert highlights high-severity vulnerabilities affecting modern Android and iPhone users, posing a significant risk of data theft by potential hackers.

Whether it’s an iPhone or an Android device, if your smartphone’s software isn’t updated, you’re vulnerable to hacking. The Cyber ​​Emergency Response Team has issued a warning regarding this issue for both operating systems. Devices such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Pro Vision headsets are at risk. Hackers may target older models than the iPhone 8.

What users can do

Apple is rolling out software updates for its devices and encouraging users to update their mobile systems promptly. Additionally, CERT has issued a warning advising Android 12 users to upgrade to her Android 14 due to security concerns.

  • Apple iOS and iPadOS versions earlier than 16.7.7 are affected (available on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad 5th generation, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, and iPad Pro 12.9-inch 1st generation)
