As businesses grapple with how to best deal with AI, one thing is certain. That means people want AI in the workplace.
According to OpenAI, demand for ChatGPT Enterprise is surging despite the rise of competitors. ChatGPT Enterprise is a special version of the program with improved security, longer context windows, unlimited high-speed GPT-4 access, advanced analytics features, and more. It also allows a user to exclude data from his OpenAI training.

More than 600,000 users have signed up for the service, up from 150,000 in January, company COO Brad Lightcap said in an interview with Bloomberg. Lightcap called 2024 “the year of AI adoption in the enterprise,” adding that the company expects “tremendous momentum” to continue.
ChatGPT Enterprise debuted in August 2023.
So far, OpenAI has not made any major efforts to monetize chatbots. Pricing for ChatGPT’s enterprise version has not been disclosed, instead encouraging users to contact the sales team. One Reddit user said he was offered a price of $60 per seat per month. For reference, ChatGPT Team, the tier below Enterprise, costs $25 per user per month.
The company doesn’t provide a public list of organizations using ChatGPT Enterprise, but in a blog post announcing the service, it mentioned Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC, and Zapier. At the time, OpenAI said its programs were used by more than 80% of teams at Fortune 500 companies.

Commenting on ChatGPT’s financial outlook, Lightcap said OpenAI is working with several companies, including French newspaper Le Monde, Spanish media company Prissa, and German mass media company Axel Springer SE, to improve the quality of journalism and reader experience. He pointed out that the company is affiliated with media organizations.
News of ChatGPT’s enterprise success comes on the heels of OpenAI’s latest developer features, including improvements to the Tweak API. OpenAI says fine-tuned models require significant time and planning, but provide a more consistent style, tone, and format.
