However, note that this price applies to the base model, which includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The latter is expandable with a microSD card, but if you use the tablet for anything other than casual streaming or web browsing, you may experience some stuttering due to the limited memory. Samsung sells him a high-spec model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That’s a better value for games and more complex uses. With an additional $50 off, he is now $220, which is also the lowest price ever.
As my colleague Sam Rutherford notes in his buying guide, the Galaxy Tab A9+ isn’t likely to wow you in any one area, but it does cover the basics pretty well. The 11-inch LCD display is a good size and has a faster-than-usual 90Hz refresh rate, making scrolling through the UI smooth. The screen has a wide 16:10 aspect ratio, making it better suited for landscape mode than the iPad’s 4:3 display. The metal and plastic frame is sleek for the price, and the 7,040mAh battery should last you a day or two of casual use. No Android tablet truly perfects the software experience, but most people should find Samsung’s One UI cleaner than something like Amazon’s Fire OS. The company says it will deliver his OS updates through the final Android 16 and provide security updates until October 2027.
That said, this is still a cheap tablet. His Snapdragon 695 chip in the Galaxy Tab A9+ is fast enough but not powerful, and the charging speed is relatively meager at 15 W at best. It also doesn’t come with a fingerprint reader or stylus, and there’s no official water resistance rating. If you don’t rely on Android, Apple’s iPad is still more complete (although we expect new models to arrive in the coming weeks). Still, if you’re on a tight budget, the Galaxy Tab A9+ is a solid buy at this price.
