US President Joe Biden has been publicly pressuring House Republicans for months to pass an aid package for Ukraine. But Mr. Johnson leads a finicky Republican caucus that has so far rejected efforts to get new money to Ukraine.
Prime Minister Cameron had previously traveled to the United States to tout support for Ukraine, painting a dark picture of a possible outcome for Europe: one in which Ukraine does not win and Europe splits apart.
Despite hoping for a victory in Kiev, Prime Minister Cameron said: [is] An alternate future in which Ukraine is driven back and cheers erupt in Moscow, Beijing, Tehran, and Pyongyang. ”
“And NATO and Europe face a precarious future, with each other questioning whether we will truly stand up for our allies.”

Prime Minister Cameron also called on Europe to redouble efforts to achieve defense spending of 2% of gross domestic product (GDP). This is a key issue for former Republican President Donald Trump as he runs for the White House again.
“We need to encourage countries, especially those that are short of 2%, to meet with prime ministers and presidents and get those budgets,” he said.
Britain’s foreign secretary, a former prime minister who returned to power last year, also called on other NATO countries to speed up efforts to send weapons to Ukraine nearing their expiry date. “These weapons should be given to Ukraine, not expensive ones, and destroyed at home,” he said.
Finally, Cameron called on Western allies to “put pressure” on the Treasury to use Russia’s frozen assets “whether through syndicated loans or through bonds and whatever means necessary to support Ukraine.”
