Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, the Venezuelan man recognized as the world’s oldest living man in 2022, died on Tuesday at the age of 114, according to multiple media reports and Venezuelan government officials.
“Juan Vicente Pérez Mora transcended eternity at the age of 114,” Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro told X on Wednesday.
“From the town of El Cobre, which gave Venezuela the Guinness record for being the oldest man in the world. I send hugs and condolences to his family and all the people of El Cobre, Tachira. May God place him in that holy May you receive us in glory!”

According to Guinness World Records, Perez won the title in February 2022 at the age of 112 years and 253 days.

Perez had 11 children, according to NDTV.
As of 2022, Perez has 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Born on May 27, 1909, as the ninth of 10 children, Perez said, “When I was five years old, I started farming with my father and brothers, helping them harvest sugar cane and coffee.” It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
