Lafayette, Louisiana (kulfi) — The next solar eclipse will occur in Acadiana on Monday, April 8th. Lafayette Museum of Science staff is ready for everyone in the area to witness it.
“Basically, it’s when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun and casts a shadow on the Earth,” says Colin, surnamed Colin, of the Lafayette Museum of Science. “It will probably be the last in the U.S. until about 2045. So it’s not very common.”
Solar eclipses are one of nature’s most impressive shows, and many people across the country are preparing for the big moment on April 8th.
The big day is quickly approaching and Colin said the team is taking steps to ensure as many people as possible can witness the event.
“We’re going to stand up to Congress and Polk,” Collin said. “Okay, we’re going to get you a couple of telescopes. We’re going to hand out a bunch of eclipse glasses. We’re going to get some boxes that you can put on your head. They might look a little weird, but they’re going to be more eclipsing than others.” You can get a good look at it.”
Although a rare event, this is the second time in just six months that people in Acadiana will be able to see a solar eclipse.
Colin will lead the museum’s team in preparing for even more visitors.
“I think there were over 300, and we even had a solar eclipse in October,” Colin said. “So here we are. Let’s see if we can beat this number.”
Monday’s solar eclipse is set to be even bigger than October’s, and expectations are at an all-time high.
“It will be about 86% covered,” Colin said. “So it gets really dark in the early afternoon. You might even see some stars during the day. I think it’s going to be a great experience and I hope everyone enjoys the day of the eclipse.” Masu.”
This will be the last solar eclipse to occur in Acadiana until 2045, so Science Museum officials encourage everyone to witness this historic event. But first make sure you’re wearing the proper safety glasses.
