Apple’s iMessage platform is one of the most widely used messaging apps on the iPhone, and the company adds new features almost every year. The iPhone’s iMessage app appears to have a built-in feature that remains hidden among most users. Basically, users can layer emojis to create stickers and share them with friends and family. If you’re unfamiliar, check out how hidden features work on an iPhone running iOS 17.
iMessage on iOS has a really nifty hidden feature that organizes emojis into stickers.
This recently discovered feature is very similar to Android’s Emoji Kitchen, but much simpler. However, there are also important differences. For example, Android’s Emoji Kitchen utility creates entirely new emojis, while on iPhone, the iMessage app creates stickers by simply placing one emoji on top of another. However, the fact that this feature remains hidden in his iOS iMessage app is surprising.
If you want to try it out for yourself, you’ll need to use Apple’s iMessage app, as it doesn’t work with standard SMS messages. The first thing you have to do is send emojis to your family and friends. All you have to do now is bring up your keyboard, select another emoji, and drag it over the one you just sent to your recipient. You can repeat this process with multiple emojis to create stickers.

This discovery was made by a user on Reddit (via british sun), it seems that it is not very well known. The best part about this feature is that it is very easy to operate and users just need to drag and drop their favorite emojis. You also have the option to use your other finger to make the sticker bigger. Just press and hold the emoji and drag your other finger outward. When you rotate your finger, the emoji will also rotate with you.
This process is very easy and does not require any third party apps. Note that you must first send the emoji to the recipient before you can drag and drop additional emojis on top of the first one. Let us know your experience in the comments section below.
