A heat wave and a difficult course hit runners at the World XC Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, on Saturday.
How did Team US do?
The top American in each race was Weini Kelati, who finished 15th in the senior women’s division.
Kelati, 27, has done a little bit of everything this year. The University of New Mexico graduate completed a half marathon in Houston in January, posted a 10K time of 30 minutes, 33 seconds on March 16, and led Team US in a performance on Saturday.
not bad.
Anthony Rotich led the U.S. men’s team with a time of 29 minutes, 22 seconds, and for the U20 national team, Elie Shea and Kevin Sanchez finished fourth and seventh in the team race.
