Scrolling issues have been reported by some Google Pixel users for years, and the problem recently resurfaced on the Pixel 8. But now Google claims that his Pixel’s scrolling issues should be completely resolved in Android 15.
On the Issue Tracker, a thread dating back to October of last year has collected hundreds of comments from users complaining that their devices frequently stutter while scrolling, especially for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. This issue also occurs on the system and in some apps.
According to a public opinion poll conducted in October, more than 50% 9to5Google Readers said they noticed scrolling issues in certain apps, but more than 35% said they never noticed any scrolling issues.
Google, latest information shared in thread (via) android police) states that this issue is “fixed” with a solution that will be distributed as part of the “next Android release,” which is likely referring to Android 15.
Continued performance and power optimizations are planned for the next Android release.
These include improvements that positively impact system-wide UI jank and use cases related to some Android applications.
However, the final release of Android 15 is still quite far away and is currently in its second developer preview.
However, this isn’t the first time Google has acknowledged the problem and insisted on fixing it. When the Pixel 7 first launched, users reported scrolling issues, but Google fixed the issue by the Android 13 release schedule.
