ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science (NMMNHS) announced it has achieved reaccreditation from the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), an industry-wide “gold standard” held by only a small percentage of museums across the country. received.
Museum leaders were notified by the AAM’s Accreditation Committee earlier this month that NMMNHS was awarded this honor, recognizing that the museum continues to meet national standards and best practices set forth by the AAM. received. The committee’s letter praised NMMNHS Executive Director Dr. Anthony Fiorillo’s accomplishments since his arrival in 2022, including stabilizing funding, revitalizing the museum campus, and revitalizing the museum team by filling vacancies. The AAM letter also highlighted the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (NMDCA). ), which operates NMMNHS, would like to thank its staff for their important role in improving the museum’s agenda through their active participation.
