Hampton, Virginia (wavy) – Virginia Peninsula Community College Our online computer science program is ranked in the top 25 in the country.
The university announced that TechGuide ranked the program No. 22 on the list.
“We are honored to be recognized for the hard work and quality instruction we put into helping our computer science students succeed,” said Scott Stauble, VPCC’s STEM department chair.
Sally Schaffner, VPCC lecturer and head of the computer science department, said of the award, “I enjoy working with students and am excited to help them achieve their career goals.”
TechGuide says it considers many factors when creating its list, including tuition, student-faculty ratio, enrollment and graduation rates, and alumni success.

Meanwhile, VPCC also announced that the ASE Educational Foundation has recertified the Master Automotive Service Technology program.
ASE stands for Automotive Service Excellence, a nonprofit organization that evaluates and certifies entry-level automotive technical education programs.
“Many congratulations go to Mark Burge (instructor and automotive program director) and JT Tussing for a successful recertification effort and a high-quality program,” said Stauble.
