It’s official: When will Galaxy AI features arrive on Samsung smartphones?

Samsung is making Galaxy AI features more widely available, bringing on-device intelligence to a wider range of users. Previously exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series, these AI-powered tools will be available on select older Samsung devices through the One UI 6.1 software update starting March 28th.

The Galaxy S24 series marked the debut of Galaxy AI, a suite of tools designed to improve the user experience through built-in intelligent AI features. One of the most popular of those features is the Circle to Search feature. This feature allows you to search Google for information by simply circling anything on your screen.

Another popular feature is Live Translation, which enables real-time translation during phone or text conversations, removing language barriers and making communication smoother.

Chat Assist is another useful feature being added to more devices that integrates with Samsung keyboards to enhance written communication. Provide translation suggestions, adjust writing style, and check grammar for polished messages.

Perhaps the most interesting feature is generative editing. This AI-powered photo editing tool allows users to remove objects, resize objects, and manipulate photo backgrounds to achieve a whole new creative dimension.

Which phones can get the new One UI 6.1 Galaxy AI update?

The One UI 6.1 update with these AI features is available for Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra), Galaxy S23 FE, the latest foldable devices Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9 series (S9 , S9 Plus, S9 Ultra). This update applies to devices purchased from major carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular) and retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.).
