TAP was named Europe’s best airline serving Africa and South America at WTA 2024, and this year it was also recognized as Europe’s best MICE airline at MICE Awards 2023, a press release said.
The MICE Awards is WTA’s ‘sister’ event in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector and this year recognized TAP.
For seven consecutive years, TAP has been recognized as the best European airline serving Africa and South America at the World Travel Awards.
TAP operates 85 weekly flights from Porto and Lisbon to 14 destinations in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, Morocco, Senegal, Gambia and Ghana.
The company also offers 80 weekly flights to Brazil, and plans to increase this to a total of 96 weekly flights to 11 Brazilian capital cities in 2024. With an average of 13 flights per day, TAP reaffirms itself as the most important international airline connecting Brazil and Europe. In South America, the airline also serves Venezuela, with direct flights between Funchal and Caracas.
The World Travel Awards recognizes the best in global tourism in dozens of categories from around the world. TAP was named best European airline to Africa and best European airline to South America in 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Because of this selection, the trophies awarded in this edition will join those already earned in previous editions. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.
The winners of the World Travel Awards were selected through an online voting process by travel and tourism professionals, primarily travel agents, tour companies and tourism organizations from various countries, as well as the general public.
TAP currently operates more than 1,250 weekly flights to 85 destinations.
