President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump both won delegates on Super Tuesday and are seeking their party’s nomination and are expected to win in battleground states.

Check what’s happening:

Votes currently closed: Vermont, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Next up: Voting in Colorado, Minnesota and Texas will then close at 9pm ET. Voting will then close in California and Utah at 11 p.m. ET, and in Alaska at 12 a.m. ET.

Predicted winner:

  • Biden: Iowa Democratic Mail-in Caucus; Democratic primaries in Vermont, Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maine, and Massachusetts;
  • playing cards: Republican primaries in Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
  • Other major races: Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson and Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein are set to face each other in the North Carolina gubernatorial race, CNN reports.

Estimated number of delegates received to date: Remember, it takes 1,215 of 2,429 delegates to win the Republican nomination and 1,968 of 3,934 to win the Democratic nomination.

Republican:

  • Trump: 411
  • Nikki Haley: 46

Democratic Party:

Top candidates are looking to November: Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump agree that the general election campaign has finally begun and will accelerate dramatically this week. For Biden and the White House, in the words of one top adviser, “it’s not going to happen soon.” Meanwhile, the Trump campaign intends to keep the campaign “all about Biden,” an adviser said.

What about Nikki Haley? The Republican candidates are not scheduled to speak publicly tonight and have not promised to continue campaigning after today’s results are tallied. Haley has repeatedly said she is not thinking beyond Super Tuesday, citing the importance of making their voices heard to voters in the dozen or so states that vote today.
