Google is working on a vibration watch feature for smartwatches

A Reddit user has discovered a new vibrate watch option in the Pixel Watch 2’s vibrate menu. This feature notifies you of the current time through vibration. “When the screen is on, he taps the clock face with two fingers to check the time. Single tap for hours and double tap for minutes.”
Apparently, there will be two vibration options: Digits and Terse. In the former case, Pixel Watch will give you “10 long vibrations and 1 short vibration.” With Terse, the time is rounded to the nearest quarter and the clock gives a short vibration every 15 minutes. Additionally, Google offers up to 5 different vibration speed settings for more advanced customization.
Google Editor Manual Vonau Pixel Watch 2 is not running the latest available Wear OS build. However, a new vibrating watch setting was added to his unit, but it didn’t work. This indicates that his A/B testing with server-side push was done on Google’s side. To see if this feature is available on his Pixel Watch 2, go to: Settings > Vibration. However, even if this option appears, it is unlikely to work.
At this point, it’s unclear whether Vibrate Watch will be a feature exclusive to the Pixel Watch 2 or whether it will also be included in the original Pixel Watch.
Given the timing of this feature’s arrival, Google may be preparing to roll out the vibrate watch feature in the March 2024 Pixel feature drop. In addition to this, Google is also working on a new grid-style app drawer and dynamic themes for smartwatches. All these features should probably be released as part of the next Pixel Feature Drop.
