Warren Buffett pays tribute to late business partner in annual letter

The Oracle of Omaha has confirmed that his late business partner was the “architect” of Berkshire Hathaway. Warren Buffett released his annual letter to shareholders on Saturday. In it, Charlie Munger wrote that he had never tried to take credit for his role as his creator. He died in November, about a month before Munger’s 100th birthday. Charlie Munger, who along with Warren Buffett made Berkshire Hathaway into a global giant through investment strategies, has died at the age of 99. The company’s insurance business was very strong, but it was disappointed in its railroad and utility businesses. Buffett also mentioned Greg Abel, who will take over as the Oracle of Omaha, and said Abel is ready to become Berkshire’s CEO “in every respect” as early as tomorrow. The Oracle of Omaha confirms that his late business partner was the “architect” of Berkshire Hathaway.

Warren Buffett released his annual letter to shareholders on Saturday.

In it, he writes that Charlie Munger never sought to take credit for his role as creator.

Munger died in November, a little more than a month before his 100th birthday.

“Berkshire is built to last,” Buffett told shareholders in a letter.

He said the company’s insurance business had been extremely strong, but he was disappointed in its rail and utilities businesses.

Buffett also talked about Greg Abel, who will take over as the Oracle of Omaha.

He said Abel is ready “in every way” to become Berkshire’s CEO as early as tomorrow.
