Last year we introduced “The Bot” as our newest Android mascot, and now we have a new mini collectible figure. Not only is it really adorable, but it’s also a huge improvement over the old Android collection.
“The Bot” has been featured as Android’s mascot for 3D designs, and it’s been a lot of fun through Google’s various uses of the mascot, including the return of “Androidify” released this week.
Now you can bring “The Bot” to life with a vinyl minifigure. This figure is 3 inches tall, the same as all the classic Android collectibles, but that’s because it’s made by the same company, Dead Zebra. This figure was designed by Andrew Bell. He has the same ambitions that we’ve had over the years developing our Android collection.
In person, “The Bot” minifigure is really adorable.
The new figure shapes and proportions are very cute and fun, different from the old ones. It is now slightly taller and slightly wider than before. The arms and legs are also thicker, and the cutout between the body and head is smaller, making it look more natural.

But beyond that, the new figures feel of higher quality. Movable arms and antennas are safer. And while that might be good news for people like me who dropped an old figure and the antenna fell off, the new, much thicker antenna feels Method It’s more durable (no, I’m not going to actually drop it to find out).

There’s always been a lot of charm to the old Android collectible figures, but I think the redesign of “The Bot” will go a long way toward improving these collectibles for years to come. I’m really looking forward to seeing what this special edition version of this figure comes up with next.
“The Bot” is currently sold out in Google’s Merchandise Store, but will be available from Dead Zebra’s online shop in the coming weeks. It was on sale at Google’s store for $16.
