Norfolk, Virginia – Old Dominion volleyball player maia conway and leeanne lowry This weekend, she will be heading to Colorado Springs, Colorado to participate in the Women’s National Team Open Program (WNTOP).
The program will be held at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center from February 23 to 25 and is open to current and recently graduated college athletes born between 1999 and 2005. WNTOP is used in selection considerations for both the U.S. National Team and Women’s Collegiate National Team.
“It is an honor to send Maia and LeeAnne to the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program,” said ODU head coach. Fred Chaoaccompany the pair on the trip and serve as one of the program’s evaluators.
“Each time, Maia has come back a more mature and motivated player from the experience. Being selected to a national team program is a tough process, but I am confident that Maia will develop into a player to watch. I believe there is.”
“LeeAnne’s progress as a player has been rapid and she is ready to compare herself to the best players in the country. Like Mya, she too has been better than when she was with Coach Kiraly and the American staff. I have no doubt that it will grow significantly.”
This will be Conway’s third consecutive year participating in the program and Lowry’s first.
“I am very excited and grateful to be joining the U.S. National Team Open Program again for the opportunity to compete and be coached by the best teams,” Conway said. “This program is a great opportunity for me to gain exposure to the speed and power I need to improve my game. I’m also looking forward to sharing this experience with Leanne and gaining knowledge that I can bring back to the team. .”

This is a rewarding moment that reflects my dedication and I can’t wait to share this experience with the ODU team!”
In 2024, members of the national team will compete in the Volleyball Nations League, Pan American Cup, NORCECA Continental Championship, and potentially the Pan American Games. Additionally, players born in 2005 or below may also be considered as candidates for his U21 national team in 2024 where he will compete in the NORCECA U21 Continental Championship.
The 2024 U.S. Collegiate National Team will train in Anaheim, Calif., along with U.S. National Team players and staff.
