London, February 19, 2024 /CNW/ — A new intelligent SIM card that promises to fundamentally improve network connectivity for IoT devices and the mobile Internet was launched today in partnership with global carriers Deutsche Telekom IoT and Tele2 IoT. Ta.
rSIM® (Resilient SIM) uses new patented technology to check its own network connection and automatically switch providers in the event of an interruption, allowing the SIM and device to be disconnected during a power outage minimize sex. rSIM stores two independent mobile operator profiles on a single SIM card, significantly reducing the risk of failure by switching to a backup mobile operator profile if a failure is detected. The SIM offers two levels of resiliency, enabling seamless roaming outside the device’s home country and a proactive solution for uninterrupted internet access. This intelligence is enabled with a new connectivity management platform that allows customers to see real-time connectivity tests from all of their SIMs, regardless of the carrier profile they connect to.
Deutsche Telekom IoT and Tele2 IoT will act as rSIM’s first connectivity partners, offering independent operator profiles within the group and delivering true resilience to audiences around the world.
rSIM combines best-in-class SIM innovation and patented technology to enable mobile operators to better serve their customers. Global SIM technology providers lead the build and manufacturing of the product and provide supporting SIM systems that allow rSIMs to be updated over the air. As part of this, we prioritize GSMA compliance to optimize device and operator compatibility.
The launch of rSIM comes following a series of notable and high-profile network outages. As mobile network operators (MNOs) invest in upgrading their core networks from 2G and 3G to 4G and 5G, periods of unplanned downtime have become more common.Recent power outages Australia Customers are left isolated and in some cases in a critical position where their lives are at stake. 12 hour network outage November 2023 Affecting more than 10 million people, Australia’s health service collapsed and the entire rail network was shut down as a result. rSIM provides a real-time solution to mitigate critical connectivity outages and associated disruptions.
Richard CunliffeDirector of Products and Innovation at rSIM said: “There will be approximately 2 billion cellular IoT connections in 2023, increasing to approximately 7 billion in 2033. As more industries rely on IoT, the number of connected devices will increase and mobile network outages will become more common. This increased disruption is impacting all industries.”However, the biggest impact is on industries where lives and infrastructure are at risk, such as telecare and national critical infrastructure (CNI).” Found in important areas. Working with best-in-class global partners to develop, build, and deploy rSIM, our innovative dual-SIM, dual-core approach provides a fault-monitoring and rapid-response solution. ”
rSIM’s innovative approach to standards compliance ensures adaptability to evolving GSMA standards. This includes the development of a version compatible with his SGP.32 standard in 2025. This is essential for eSIM remote provisioning of IoT devices, especially those with network or user interface limitations.
