tiger woods Following the end of his partnership with Nike, he is bringing his talents to TaylorMade. On Monday in Pacific Palisades, California, Woods unveiled his new apparel and lifestyle brand, Sun Day Red.
Woods, whose logo features a tiger and stripes representing major wins, talked about how the name was created.
“I’ve been wearing red on Sundays. It started with my mom. She’s a Capricorn so she thought red was my color. I wore red as a junior golfer and wore some… I won a tournament. I went to a red college. Stanford was red…that became synonymous with me. That’s me, Sunday Red,” Woods explained.
Sun Day Red stands out as a unique brand supported by a passionate team of designers and staff working out of our headquarters. The dynamic fusion of fashion and culture has been led by renowned leaders like Brad Blankinship, who has an impressive track record with iconic brands such as Quiksilver and RVCA. As Sun Day Red’s new president, Blankinship will infuse his decades of expertise into the brand’s day-to-day operations, ensuring its journey beyond the ordinary.
“Tiger’s approach to his craft and relentless pursuit of perfection make him the ideal partner. Tiger has an innate ability to see the smallest detail. We tailor our products to the athlete’s preferences. We worked diligently on every stitch, every fit to get it right.” Blankinship said. “We look forward to working with Sunday Red to transform the landscape of lifestyle brands and giving our fans and consumers a first-hand experience of our products.”
The brand will launch with a men’s line first, but Woods said it will soon expand to include items for women and children.
Sun Day Red launches on May 1st at www.sundayred.com.
