SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Which city in the United States has the best zoo? As USA Today ranks the nation’s top zoos in its 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Zoos of 2024. Citizens have the power to choose.
Do you like Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, the North Carolina Zoo, or the Cincinnati Zoo? How about the Honolulu Zoo? Why not choose the San Diego Zoo to represent your hometown? If these are among your favorite zoos, check out these zoos as they currently top the USA Today leaderboards. , you’re thinking just like other voters across the country.

USA Today’s team of experts has handpicked the top zoos from hundreds of zoos across the country. He can vote once a day for any of the 20 zoos on the list.
Here in California, the San Diego Zoo and Oakland Zoo are on this year’s list.
The San Diego Zoo, along with the safari park, has one of the largest and most diverse animal collections in the world, according to the voting page.
The San Diego Zoo is home to the award-winning Elephant Odyssey and Elephant Care Center, and the Australian Outback exhibit has the largest collection of koalas outside of Australia, the voting page continued.

Rounding out the list for now is the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, New York. But there’s still time to vote for your favorite zoo, so these rankings are sure to change.
