5 Android apps you can’t miss this week

Welcome to the 522nd edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here we discuss the latest mobile news and take a closer look at some of the most interesting new apps and games. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of last week’s biggest highlights.

• This week, Android 15 released its first developer preview. It aims to provide enhanced privacy, screen recording, tools to improve gaming performance, and more. If you have a compatible Pixel smartphone, you can install the preview now, but please note that this is a very early build and the official stable release may not arrive until late 2024. be careful.
• Google Maps may soon show electric car plug-and-charge locations, as Android Authority’s recent APK teardown shows. For those who don’t know, plug-and-charge technology allows EV owners to quickly charge their vehicles without using a card or app, allowing the car to essentially pay for them on their behalf.
• Google may soon allow users to edit messages sent in its Messages app. This feature was recently discovered in the latest Google Messages beta and was hidden behind some easily editable flags. This feature allows you to edit messages sent in the last 30 minutes. Users also see the message’s edit history.
• Google Messages may soon let you react to chats using gestures similar to Instagram, at least according to the latest Google Messages beta APK. This feature may eventually replace the current long-press action used for reactions.
• If you’ve ever deleted an app that requires account setup, you’ve probably experienced how difficult this process can be. Thankfully, the Google Play Store will soon make it easier to delete app accounts. With the latest update to the Play Store, users can now easily request deletion of their account and the data associated with it. Updates are currently being rolled out.
• WhatsApp will soon improve its chat lock feature, and the company is working on ways to ensure chats locked on your primary device are synced across all other devices connected to the same account. It has been reported.
• The new Google Gemini app finally rolled out to several new countries this week, including some in Europe. We expected it to roll out in some regions, but Google has previously hinted that rollout in Europe could take a while, so this is at least a good sign.

With the release of High Sea Saga DX for Android, the classic pirate strategy simulation is better than ever on mobile. Just like in the original, you can recruit a crew, choose a profession (nomad, sniper, cadet, etc.), collect treasure and other items, participate in battles, and much more. The biggest difference in this version is that the free-to-play model has been removed and replaced with his one-time purchase price of $7.49. In addition, several improvements are introduced, such as the option to purchase medals with gold and the addition of new community and personal PvP features.

Ghost Survivors: Pixel Hunt

Ghost Survivors jumps right into the action with a straightforward plot centered around freeing demons and other monsters from the underworld. This game certainly feels very familiar. Vampire: If you’ve played Survivor or similar games, you’ll know what to expect. That said, I honestly still had fun moving around the stages and firing arrows and other weapons at things like ghosts and Mario-esque piranha plant-like creatures. There’s nothing groundbreaking here, but the art style is actually quite fun, with one of his characters in a short cutscene image essentially looking like something out of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I laughed out loud when I realized he was an imitation of Aang.

Disney Realm Breakers is a mashup game featuring a variety of Pixel and Disney characters who must band together to save the world of Noi from the Scourge Legion. I’m cheating a bit by adding this to the list since it’s not yet open to most of us. Disney Realms Breakers is currently in its soft launch phase and is available in the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia. What about gameplay? It looks like a combination of strategy and city building, but also includes combat and other elements.

NBA Infinite is a real-time PvP mobile game where you can build your dream team from scratch and compete against other teams. One of the most distinctive features of this game is its excellent graphics for mobile platforms. However, the gameplay is a bit unbalanced at the moment, and while the game is still fun, it can cause some frustration at times. Thankfully, the developers seem to be well aware of these issues and are actively working on improvements to improve the gaming experience in future updates.

Remember Wonderlist? It was one of my personal favorites until Microsoft acquired it and rebuilt it as Microsoft To Do. It’s still a decent app, but I liked the original Wunderlist better. Do you feel the same way? You’ll be excited to know that Superlist is a new app from the creators of Wunderlist. The new app is far from a clone of the initial experience, but its design includes some of the same spirit. I’ve been using this for my personal to-do list for about a week now, and while I think there’s room for improvement, I actually like it better than Microsoft’s current version.
